Monster Hunter Tri. Misc days

When April 1st came up as one of the days I had to make a drawing for I decided to make and post a silly drawing to see what kind of a reaction it would get.

A few days after the game came out I started working on a desktop wallpaper using the miniature doodles of all the monsters that I had used in the drawings before as a final huzzah.

Then a few months later after I'd finished the game I realized I needed to make one more picture for the final 'secret' monster.

Monster Hunter Tri. Days 1-10

In the weeks leading up to the release of Monster Hunter Tri on the Nintendo Wii back in April I created a topic on Capcom's public forums over at Capcom-Unity.com. In this topic I stated that I was going to draw one monster from the game every day up until it's release and post the results. The whole event was pretty successful, as it even received a mention on their main page.

I've felt really guilty lately about not really doing much artistic stuff lately so I'm going to post a few things I have managed to do in the least few years in an attempt to inspire me to do some new stuff.

Flipnote Shoop-Da-Woop.

This was a first attempt at trying to make something with the Flipnote Studio program on my Nintendo DSi using a popular internet joke to see how much attention it would get. I later attempted to go all out and make a bigger and better piece afterwords but went too far and the file became too big for the program to work with when I was only half done.

The Library is already a few weeks into their Laugh Out Loud summer reading program, so I figure now is a good time to upload the bits of animation that I did for it up to my blog.

First is the main animation I made for it, my Knock Knock joke. I already uploaded the character sheet for the 2 of 'em and a test walk cycle for Sarate already, so you should already know about these characters if you saw that. So I'm fairly pleased with how it turned out, but as with any artist I can say that it could have turned out better... but it's good nonetheless.

After finishing that I was asked to make an intro sequence in order to fill up the rest of my hours. Despite having less time to churn it out, I think I did a better job on it than my main animation.

This was mostly practive like the walk cycle was, but they liked it so much it was requested to be put into the main animation as a segue to the letter of the week segments.

NSCC Work term

I spent the month of May doing a work term for the Truro Library with a few other students for their "Laugh Out Loud" summer reading program. The idea was to create a few different short animated shorts to be put up on different weeks during the summer months. Below is some of the preliminary work I did for the characters I used for my animation, and I'll put up the full animation after it has been aired this summer.

Joe Frigginhuge goes to an eating competition. It's not cleaned up and colored, but maybe I'll get to that some day. But the project's requirements asked for a 10 second animation, I think this one is close to 25, so...

NSCC Group Animation Section

For this assignment The class divided into groups and were given the choice of using the character we have been using or make a new one and then create a 30 second animation. My groups decided to reuse the character and place him in a hat shop, this clip is my segment of the animation, in the complete one the is a piece before and after this one. I also added a few frames for spacing here and there in this version, because it was really fast normally.
